Amato followed his sister inside, closing the door and holding his hands up to silence Azzurra before she could speak, “Weiss is right you know. As long as Bristow’s missing, I am second-in-command. I can’t leave the office.”
Azzurra sighed, “I know. It’s just that Vaquez has made it vert clear he hates it here in Boston. I am not sure I can trust him to watch my back if things heat up.”
“Mark maybe a hothead but if push comes to shove I think he’ll watch your back,” Amato said, “Besides, you did do field work without me as your partner before you transferred here, remember?”
“Yes, I remember,” she replied. “I think I’ve gotten used to you, that’s all.”
“Well we can’t get too used to each other, especially if Bristow doesn’t come back here okay.”
Their conversation ended shortly afterwards and Amato decided to have a quick talk with Mark before he returned to help with the tracker.
